PE Grant

How well is the school performing?

What is Pupil Premium?

What is the Physical Education Grant / Sport Premium?

The government are spending on improving physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools over 3 academic years. Schools can choose how they use the funding. Promoting and encouraging children to have a healthy lifestyle and being active in sports is very important to us at Water Orton Primary school. We hire qualified sports coaches to teach lessons, provide a wide range of active after-school clubs and participate in sports activities with other schools.

We have participated in many competitions this year with great success. Afterschool clubs provided at school include; Cricket, Gymnastics, Football, Cross Country, Dogeball and Netball.

You can find more details of the funding for PE and sport grant allocations for our school by clicking on the grey links above.

The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

Pupil premium funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools, such as special schools and pupil referral units.

How are we performing as a school according to OFSTED?

       OFSTED

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. We were inspected in October 2014, which identified Water Orton Primary as a GOOD SCHOOL. The report stated, "There have been significant improvements to key aspects of the school’s work since the previous inspection".

The report also highlighted:

*Good teaching helps all groups of pupils, including those who need extra help and the most able, to make good progress.

*Pupils enjoy opportunities to take part in trips, residential visits, sport, music, art and to learn about other cultures. This makes a good contribution to their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

*Pupils behave well. They are respectful to adults and to each other as they move in and around the school’s extensive buildings and outdoor areas.
