What is Evergreen?

Evergreen is one of Warwickshire's 'Resourced Provisions'.

It is part of the mainstream Water Orton Primary School and meets the needs of learners who have complex communication and social interaction difficulties, who have, or would have difficulty intergrating fully into a mainstream school, but still benefit from being part of a mainstream school, rather than a traditional special school.

Evergreen at Water Orton Primary School has it's own building and is surrounded by trees, overlooking the school field and woodland.

It offers a comparatively high adult to pupil ratio and it provides a happy, caring, nurturing and safe environment where every individual is valued and where children are motivated to achieve their fullest all-round potential.

Evergreen is specifically desinged to meet the social communication and interaction needs of its learners. Evergreen offers a personalised mainstream curriculum that can respond creatively and flexibly to the individual strengths and difficulties of each learner, keeping their needs and views at its core.

It offers an autism-friendly and sensory-friendly space that promotes learning for all its pupils.

Evergreen values individual difference and fosters positive social attitudes of mutual respect and sensitivity to the needs of others. It supports individual learners to feel emotionally secure, able to form relationships and to develop positive self-esteem so they can be ready to learn. Students will learn to become independent, productive and responsible members of Evergreen and of the wider school community. They will be able to reach their full emotional, intellectual and physical potential.

Evergreen recognises and values the importance of our partnerships with families and the wider school community and aims to create an environment that is welcoming to all and is parter of the wider community.
